From Abi...

Hey everyone,

Thanks so much for checking in with us and thanks also to those of you who signed up to bring meals for Mom - the list filled up so quickly that we don't have any more openings! We are all so blessed and overwhelmed by the eager generosity of our dear friends.

We had Tim Skutt, Steve Berens, Mom's mom & dad, Mom's sister Joanne and my Uncle Ron (Dad's brother) with us most of the morning as we waited for her to come out of surgery. Andrew also came in for a bit this evening to visit.

Mom is doing good - she came out of surgery and into her recovery room at around 1:25 pm today. Her blood pressure has been a little high, but other than that, the surgery went very well. She was and is still feeling a lot of paint (she told her mom that she felt like she had been run over by a mac truck) and the effects of the anesthesia, so she has spent most of the day sleeping and occasionally peeking at us to make a sassy comment, chew some ice or ask for more pain meds. :) Dad said she was also a little nauseous this evening and did vomit a bit, but hopefully that's the last of that (especially as there wasn't much in there to upchuck anyway!).

We are, of course, still waiting (and will not hear until Mom visits her oncologist again - next week maybe?) for the results of the tests on the lymph nodes that were taken out. Please continue to ask our gracious Father for peace, joy and complete healing and restoration of her body.

With love,

Abi

  1. ...I just read this entire blog...I had no clue. Please let your mom know she's in my prayers, and I love and miss her very much. If there's anything I can do at all, please, please let me know. I'm not an emotional person at all, as you know, but this actually brought tears to my eyes to read all of this.

Like I said feel free to call with any problems.

    much love,

    jake
